History of Whitfield Studios and therefore known history of the mic:
1972–1984: CBS Studios, London
1984–1989: Whitfield Street Recording Studios
1989–1993: The Hit Factory, London
1994–2004: Sony Music Studios, London
2004–2008: Whitfield Street Studios
In 2008 when Whitfield Street Studios closed down the mic was purchased in the equipment sale. It has not changed hands again since and has been used until recently on many more very successful albums by Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, Catfish and the Bottlemen, etc.
The power supply / polar pattern selection box is a custom unit possibly made for Whitfield Street, it is quieter and more compact than the original standard configuration.
Fully working, sounds wonderful and is being offered for sale directly following a comprehensive service.
