D.A.V. Electronics Broadhurst Gardens No.2 For Sale

D.A.V. Electronics “Broadhurst Gardens No. 2”  4-Ch Mic Pre

A rare 4-channel mic preamp built by D.A.V. Electronics, custom-branded “Broadhurst Gardens No. 2” – a name that nods to the legendary Broadhurst Gardens studio complex in London, long associated with Decca and Lansdowne Studios. D.A.V. Electronics has built a strong reputation among engineers for discrete, Class-A preamp designs rooted in classic British console topology, and this unit continues that lineage in a compact, rack-mounted format.

Each of the four independent channels features:

• Continuously variable gain control (dB)
• Switchable 48V phantom power
• -20dB pad
• Phase reverse
• Selectable high-pass filter (22Hz / 66Hz)
• +8 gain boost and overload indicator

Housed in a solid steel chassis with a clean, functional front panel and a simple rear-panel power switch, this preamp is built for reliable, transparent performance in professional recording environments. Channels are individually numbered and serial-tagged (33–36), suggesting sequential production from a larger batch — ideal for engineers seeking matched, uncoloured gain across a session.

A well-kept example of boutique British preamp design, suited to studios and collectors alike seeking warmth, headroom, and pedigree in equal measure.
